House features and nearby facilities
This is your guide to using all of the appliances in our house and the amenities and facilities in the surrounding area.

AIR CONDITIONING
Both air-conditioning units are reverse cycle and activated via separate remotes.
The family room unit will warm/cool the house (leave the bedroom doors open for airflow) excepting for the master bedroom which has its own unit.
The remote for the master bedroom unit is kept on the wall on the left as you walk into the room. The remote for the family room unit is on the wall opposite the unit.
We maintain the units regularly as we live there but if a unit is not heating or cooling as expected please turn it off and contact us immediately. We will get it attended to by our local electrician.
BBQ
The Jumbuck 4 Burner Hooded Barbecue is a great outdoor cooking solution. Complete with stainless steel handles on hood, temperature gauge, both grill and hotplate for cooking, auto ignition and side shelves.
We provide the gas and all of the utensils you will need to cook delicious meals for your friends and family.
Please remember to turn the gas off at the bottle as a safety precaution.
COFFEE MACHINE
The Essenza Mini Coffee Machine brews both espresso and lungo coffees with the touch of a button. Just add ice for a refreshing iced coffee any time of year. The milk frother produces both hot and cold milk. Press and hold the button for cold milk)
To use, press either of the top buttons to turn on. Press the left top button for espresso and the right top button for lungo. We provide an assortment of pods in our guest pack.
INDUCTION COOKTOP
Induction cooktops can take a bit of getting used to. Some quick notes;

For normal cooking you do not need to go higher than level 5.

If you want to bring water to the boil then select the zone, place the pot on the zone and then select the b touch control. The water will boil rapidly and once boiling it will revert to level 9.

Only use the pots and pans we have provided as they are specific for induction.

If you get error message "Lo" turn the unit off and back on again at the switch on the wall.
INTERNET ACCESS

You will have full internet access from all areas of the property.
You will have access to Network Name "Curlewis Guest" WiFi password details will be shared with you as part of your Airbnb Arrival Guide.
The TV is internet enabled but on a different network. Please do not change the Network setting for the TV.
OVEN
The Chef under bench oven is reliable and simple to use.

TELEVISION

Turn the TV on using the remote. Select your favourite app and login using your account. Free to air channels (Ten, Nine, Seven) do not require login.
KITCHEN MIXER TAP
We occasionally get questions about water flow rate on this tap. It is purposely designed with a low 6L/minute flow rate for water efficiency. So don't stress, it is designed that way.
Hot Water
We have a gas hot water service with a solar booster so no need to stress about running out of hot water.
To be in the safe side, we suggest that you be a bit careful and space the showering out a bit if the house is full.
Washing Machine
EasyCare 300 series 7.5kg front load washing machine with 1200rpm spin speed, durable motor, Fast wash programs, large drum opening and time remaining display.
We supply a small amount of detergent which is stored on the shelf above the washing machine.
Books and Games
A small assortment of Books and Games are stored in the TV Unit.
Please feel free to enjoy them and return them at the end of your stay so our next guests can also enjoy them.
Children's Books and Games
Children's Books are stored on the lower shelf of the bunk unit and Games and Puzzles are stored in the wardrobe in that room.
Please feel free to enjoy them and return them at the end of your stay so the children of our next guests can also enjoy them.
Fish and Chips
There are several Fish and Chips shops in the area but the closest (and we think the best) is Curlewis Fish and Chips in the Bayview Central Shopping Mall.
Don't be put off by the mall location or the (lack of) decor as the food is consistently good.
Pizza
Just a few minutes drive into Drysdale and you can enjoy one of the best pizza's in Victoria. They are always busy so it pays to book ahead.
We lived in Italy for a long period and have to say that this pizza is up there with our favourites.
Hounds of the Vine winery

Hounds Of The Vine winery is just a few minutes from our house (just 12 minutes most days). We love this winery because, like us, they are passionate about this special region and their food and wine is delicious.

The Range @ Curlewis
The Range @ Curlewis is more than just a driving range as they also have a mini golf course, all day dining and events (including Wednesday night trivia). Best to book to avoid disappointment.
Curlewis Golf Club
Curlewis Golf Club is one of Australia's most spectacular golf courses. With a sandy base, a minimum of trees and naturally undulating couch fairways the links type course has maintained its position as one of the best on the Bellarine Peninsula and is currently ranked 21st in Australia (Golf Australia Magazine Top 100 Public Access).
Bellarine Rail Trail
The Bellarine Rail Trail provides an inspiring passage to the many tourist attractions across the Bellarine Peninsula.
The trail pathway is asphalt between South Geelong and Drysdale and then primarily constructed of compacted, crushed rock between Drysdale and Queenscliff. It provides a high quality surface suitable for most bikes and includes sections of sealed and unsealed surfaces.
