Why Choose Between Fairways and Pinot?
When planning a group getaway, the hardest part is usually agreeing on the itinerary. Some want to chase birdies on world-class fairways; others want to relax with a glass of cool-climate Shiraz overlooking the bay.
Luckily, when you stay in Bayview Curlewis, you don’t have to choose.
Located in the heart of the Bellarine Peninsula, our Seaside Village Escape places you squarely in the middle of Victoria’s "Golf & Wine" capital. With 8 stunning golf courses and over 20 wineries within a 30-minute drive, your only problem will be fitting it all in.
Here is our guide to the perfect weekend on the Bellarine.
Part 1: The Golfer’s Paradise
The Bellarine Peninsula is fast becoming Australia's premier golf destination, ranked alongside the famous Melbourne Sandbelt. Whether you are a serious scratch marker or a "hit and giggle" social player, there is a course here for you.
1. The Local Gem: Curlewis Golf Club Rated as one of the fastest-rising courses in Australia, this hip, forward-thinking club is practically on our doorstep. It features a challenging links-style layout that is playable year-round.
2. Serious Fun: The Range @ Curlewis Ideally located right next to the Golf Club, The Range is perfect for a Friday night warm-up. Grab a burger, a beer, and smash some balls at this state-of-the-art driving range. It’s "Topgolf style" fun without the city crowds.
3. The Icons Looking to tick a few boxes off your bucket list? You are a short drive from:
13th Beach Golf Links: Home to the Vic Open, featuring two top-100 ranked courses (The Beach and The Creek).
Portarlington Golf Club: A beautiful tree-lined course that fits the relaxed coastal vibe perfectly.
Lonsdale Links: A newly redesigned course that is gathering rave reviews for its unique architecture.
Part 2: The Wine Trail
After the 18th hole (or instead of it!), the Bellarine Taste Trail awaits. The region is famous for its cool-climate wines, specifically Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, often served with sweeping views across Port Phillip Bay.
1. The View: Jack Rabbit Vineyard Just a short drive from our home, Jack Rabbit is iconic for a reason. The "House of Jack Rabbit" offers a more casual vibe, while the main restaurant provides fine dining. The view across the bay to Melbourne is unparalleled.
2. The Heritage: Scotchmans Hill Established in 1982, this is one of the region's oldest and most respected labels. Their cellar door is a cozy, rustic cottage that feels intimate and welcoming—perfect for a relaxed afternoon tasting.
3. The All-Rounder: Terindah Estate Located next door to Jack Rabbit, Terindah offers a little bit of everything: a cellar door, a deck for casual dining, and even "glamping." It is a stunning spot to watch the sun go down.
Part 3: Your Base Camp in Curlewis
After a day of putting and Pinot, you need a place where the whole group can unwind together. That’s where Seaside Village Escape shines.
Unlike cramping into separate hotel rooms, our spacious 4-bedroom home is designed for connection.
Fire up the BBQ in our outdoor entertainment area.
Relax in the alfresco dining space with a bottle of wine you picked up earlier in the day.
Spread out in the open-plan living areas.
Options
The amazing thing about the Bellarine is the diverse activities that are within a "stones throw". So if you are into fishing, sailing, surfing, cycling and lazing by the beach with the kids.. then just swap out Golfing for your favourite activity in Part 1 and you are set to go!
Whether you are here for the golf, the wine, or just the sea air, Curlewis is the strategic centre of the Bellarine, and we’d love to host you.
